How do people perceive this character: Reese sees the world differently than most people, both figuratively and literally, and people don't usually understand her.  The people uncomfortable with differentness tend to treat her like a child - like she can't understand anything overly complicated.  Those who are okay with her unconventional take on the world find her completely lovable.  The overall perception of Reese is that she's not quite like anyone else.  She's different - a little outside what is considered "normal".
Greatest passion: Her daughter, Kiss, painting, and people.
Aspiration: Reese wants to be a good mum. She knows she's not equipped to take care of herself, much less another person, but it's her goal in life to be strong for her daughter.

Describe the character's personal history: Reese Cassandra Ashley was born on March 30, 1980 to Marcus and Lilian Ashley in Llyn Cowlyd, Wales.  The Ashley's were a generationally wealthy, landed, pure-blood family, and they are traditionally Ravenclaw alum.  Reese was a surprise to the couple; she was born to them well after Lilian had passed her childbearing years.  They lived in Ashley Manor in Llyn Cowlyd with their newborn daughter, a butler who was more of a companion, Alfred, and a house elf called Livvy. There were no extended familial relatives to speak of; neither Marcus or Lilian had had brothers or sisters and as they hadn't gotten around to starting a family until very late in life, their parents had passed on by the time Reese was born.

Marcus and Lilian died in a boating accident when Reese was a baby, and Alfred was appointed as her legal guardian.  He was not a young man and Reese always considered him more of a grandfather figure.  Very early on, Alfred realized that Reese was a special child.  She talked of being able to see colors everywhere and often seemed to be looking at things that obviously weren't there.  He gave her charcoals, pencils, crayons, and paints so she could "show" him what she saw - which resulted in uncountable colorful, abstract paintings.  Alfred never knew exactly what it was that she could see, but he knew it was real; some kind of visual empathy.  He encouraged her to express herself, and as she was the light of his life, also indulged her.  Her adventurous spirit took them all over the world, from Fiji to South Africa to Dubai to Shanghai.

Reese sorted into Gryffindor at Hogwarts in 1990.  She may never be capable of great feats, but she's resilient, brave and courageous in her own small ways. She's clever, but didn't excel in her studies because she didn't learn like the other students, and because she had trouble sitting still and keeping quiet in a traditional classroom environment.  After graduating in 1997, Reese picked up with Alfred and their travels again (and subsequently missed the second war), though her guardian passed away in 1999 from old age.  His loss was a major blow to Reese as he was the single stabilizing influence in her life and without him she didn't know what to do, where to go, or who to be.  Her grief kept her away from Britain for half a decade as she tried to distract herself with what the world had to offer.  Sometimes those things were good, but sometimes they weren't.  In early 2001, Reese fell in with an emotionally, mentally and physically abusive man while staying in Amsterdam - Lukas Roth.  She was able to escape him with the help of her elf, Livvy, but Reese has kept below the radar ever since because she knew he would never stop looking for her.

In the summer of 2002, Reese met up with an old friend from school in Italy - Katie Bell.  Katie was touring the country playing exhibition games as a Chaser for the Holyhead Harpies, and Reese tagged along.  Realizing how much she missed Britain and the friends she'd left behind, Reese returned in the summer of 2003.  She still struggled with her grief over Alfred's loss and had just as difficult a time keeping herself together as ever, but she figured it was better to at least be around people she'd once known.  She immediately ran into a few Slytherins she had known in school, Beckett Dunstan and Miles Bletchley.  She developed a friendship with Miles and made him her lawyer, but it was Beckett that she fell into bed with.  In December 2003, Reese found out she was pregnant with Beckett's child and in a panic, she ran away to Switzerland.  She kept in contact with Miles through cryptic owls so he could keep up her estate and send her money, but she didn't come back to Britain again until the spring of 2004.  

At the age of 25, Reese gave birth to Kiss Miriyam Ashley on June 6, 2004.  She slowly reintegrated back with the friends she had fled from, though she never tried to contact Beckett.  Having Kiss settled her more than anything else ever could have, and Reese not only managed to stay put in the little cottage she let in Cornwall for just over a year, but began dating again. 

Just when everything finally seemed to be going in the right direction, Reese's past caught up with her.  Lukas finally tracked her down as she'd always feared.  She managed to send Kiss off to Miles with her elf, Livvy, but Reese was snatched and as of Christmas 2005 is still missing.
